Dr. Tanner.JPGJohn Tanner, M.D.
Medical Director
John M. Tanner, M.D. is Board Certified in Neurology and Neuroimaging with an extensive  professional background in the specialty. Dr. Tanner graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. His training in Florida hospitals working with a wide range of patients with neurological disorders and brain injury will contribute to his work at Communicare.

Gordon J. Horn, Ph.D.
Director of Programs & Clinical Services
Dr. Horn’s education included a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University (1988), and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland (1991). He then completed his Ph.D. from Saint Louis University in Clinical Psychology (1995) with specialty training in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation. At Duke University Medical Center he completed his Clinical Internship Training year (1994) with an additional two-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship (1997) in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation.  Clinical training began in 1989 within the Montebello Rehabilitation Hospital, part of the University of Maryland Medical System/Shock Trauma Hospital, and then continued with the Sister’s of Saint Mary’s Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Clinical Training and experience continued at the post doctoral level at Duke University Medical Center.  For the past 11 years he has worked as a Clinical Neuropsychologist with emphasis on rehabilitation treatment and programming (inpatient and outpatient), acute care management, and neurological intensive care consultation. He has been a member of the Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute.  Academically, Dr. Horn has served as an Adjunct Faculty Professor with the University of Central Florida’s (UCF) accredited Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program for seven years. He also served as the Clinical Training Director for the UCF pre-internship hospital training program for seven years.  Dr. Horn’s current research interests include Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, Brain Tumor, and Acquired Brain Injury. His professional affiliations include the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Neuropsychological Society, and the American Psychological Association (Division of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology).

Director of Staff and Program Development
Program Director of Communicare from October 1999 through June 2008. Graduate of University of Nebraska, he has 40 years of experience with TBI, pediatric and adult rehabilitation, including Father Flanagan’s Boys and Girls Town, Nebraska. Program implementation in New York City (Brooklyn) and Florida is also within his experience, as well as graduate school teaching. He has been an expert witness related to safe environments of clients many times.



Letitia McIntosh-Reid, MS BCBA
Associate Program Director
Letitia McIntosh-Reid has over 15 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is the Associate Program Director at Communicare. Letitia received her bachelors degree in Psychology from Florida State University. She received her Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University. Her interests include positive behavioral interventions, interactional styles and team building.

Jonathan K. Jaberg, MDiv, BCABA
Program Manager Behavioral Services
Following thirteen years serving as a Presbyterian minister, Jon has fifteen years experience working with persons with mental health/substance abuse disorders and seven years with developmentally disabled adults. He is a Board certified Associate Behavior Analyst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Wheaton College in Illinois and a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey.  Jon believes in the practical therapeutic value of treating every person as an individual who deserves dignity and respect.  He has experienced the value of an inter-disciplinary team approach in human services.
